As the name suggests, baby powder or talcum powder, it is a mixture that absorbs moisture and is used to reduce chafing, to be a common link between the diaper changing stations in homes across America.

But Johnson & Johnson, the company that makes the leading baby powder, has been in the news lately for an alarming reason. Claiming several complaints that decades of use of the product has contributed to ovarian cancer in thousands of women.

Most recently, a jury in St. Louis voted in favour of Deborah allocating her more than $ 70 million to finish the lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson marketed under the claim that years of using the product caused her ovarian cancer.

Previous cases with similar details have been thrown out of court for lack of evidence, while still others in judgments as Giannecchini is completed, to be paid in the Johnson & Johnson has tens million required to the families of the victims.

While the Giannecchini  jury found enough evidence to decide Johnson & Johnson misleading the public by hiding the link between ovarian cancer and talcum powder, scientific experts are not sure the connection makes sense.
